How to play JellyBlob
JellyBlob is a free multiplayer .io game about wobbly gelatin jellies in a glowing night pond. Grow by eating dew, trap rivals with your trail and outplay jellies a hundred times your size. Here's everything you need in two minutes.
Controls
Desktop
Steer with the mouse or WASD. Click or Space to hop. Hold click, Shift or right-click to surge. Esc opens settings.
Phone & tablet
Drag anywhere on the left half to steer with a floating thumbstick. Tap HOP to jump; hold SURGE to speed up. Everything restarts instantly with Play again.
The rules of the pond
Eat dew
Glowing dew makes you bigger. Grab pieces less than a second apart to build a combo that multiplies dew up to ×2.
Trails burst jellies
Every jelly leaves a glowing goo trail. Touch someone else's and you splat. Brand-new goo right behind a jelly is pale and harmless for a split second.
Hop
Hop over any trail in your way. Clearing a live trail mid-air is a Vault and fills your Glow. Hopping leaves a gap in your own wall, so time it.
Stomp
Land a hop on a jelly that is clearly smaller than you and it bursts. Small jellies: if a giant's shadow grows around you, move!
Surge
Surging makes you much faster but costs size. The goo you shed can be eaten by everyone else — use it to escape or to close a trap.
Supernova
Fill the Glow meter with vaults, close calls, combos and splats. At 100% you go Supernova: seven seconds of speed, magnetism, trail immunity and the power to swallow smaller jellies.
Currents
Bright blue tide currents speed you up by up to 45% when you ride them — and slow you down when you swim against them.
Power bubbles
Magnet pulls dew toward you, Shield survives one hit, and Turbo lets you surge for free.
The crown
The biggest jelly in the pond wears the crown — and is worth a jackpot to whoever splats it.
Pro tips
- Size isn't safety. Big jellies turn slowly. Curve your trail in front of their nose and let them run into it.
- Hop early. A buffered hop fires the moment your cooldown ends — tap just before you need it.
- Follow the loot. A splatted jelly spills most of its size along its trail. Sweep the loot line, but watch who else is coming.
- Chain close calls. Skimming past trails fills Glow fast. Supernova is the fastest way to climb the leaderboard.
- Ride currents to escape, to catch up and to reach prisms before anyone else.
- Bring friends. Tap the share button after a run: the link drops them into your pond.
Progress, trophies and weekly challenges
Every run earns XP toward 99 levels that unlock colors, meme hats, eyes and trail styles like Glitter, Galaxy and Lava. Trophies are long-term goals — splat 250 jellies, vault 500 trails, survive 10 minutes — each with its own reward. Every Monday a new weekly challenge arrives with a collectible hat or face; clear it once to keep it forever.

Is JellyBlob free?
Yes — free in your browser, no download and no account. An optional Buy Me a Coffee donation unlocks the cosmetic Color Shift glow. It gives no gameplay advantage.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, on Android and iPhone browsers, with a thumbstick and HOP/SURGE buttons. Desktop works with mouse or keyboard.
How do I avoid dying?
Never touch another jelly's glowing trail. Hop over trails you can't steer around, watch for big jellies landing on you, and keep your own trail between you and danger.
What is Supernova?
Vaults, close calls, combos and splats fill your Glow meter. At 100% you go Supernova for seven seconds: faster, magnetic, immune to trails, and able to swallow smaller jellies on touch.
How do weekly challenges work?
Every Monday a new challenge starts with its own collectible hat or face. Clear it in a single life before the week ends to keep the reward forever. Rewards rotate back around, so missed ones return.
Do I need an account to keep my progress?
No. Your level, unlocks, trophies and settings are saved in your browser. Sign in with Google or Discord (optional) to keep them on every device — progress from the original JellyBlob comes with you.
